VIRTUALLY ZERO WASTE BUSINESS MODEL

In alignment with our mission, Salty Kisses has intentionally chosen a business model that allows us to only print our t-shirts and similar products when you order them, thus reducing unnecessary production waste.

SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PARTNERSHIPS AND PRODUCT SOURCING

Salty Kisses focuses on being both socially responsible and environmentally responsible, thus carefully selecting our clothing partners based on their commitment to be eco-friendly and community based companies focused on environmentally friendly production processes, their comprehensive contribution to reducing their environmental footprint, and providing high-quality working conditions to the local communities.

WATER RECYCLE, REDUCE, REUSE

  • Using newer, more efficient dye machines means 7x less water than the average for clothing manufacturers, saving 24 million gallons a week.
  • Low impact dyes reduces water quality impact of manufacturing
  • Used water goes through a filtration system allowing it to be recovered,  recycled and reused in the processes thus reducing water consumption and cuts down on water treatment and waste water.

ENERGY REDUCTION

  • Takes every opportunity to reduce co2 emissions
  • Use solar energy to power sewing and cutting facilities
  • Motion-sensor LED lighting and skylights throughout each building
  • Electric car charging stations to encourage employees to go green

VIRTUALLY ZERO WASTE

  • Manufacturing facilities and LA Headquarters produce almost no landfill because they recycle pretty much everything that can't be turned into a tee.
  • Optimized cutting reduces plastic use
  • Excess fabric is recycled into a number of things like baby bibs or stuffing for upholstery. Let nothing go to waste!

MATERIALS

  • Organic Cotton – farmed without insecticides, pesticides, & chemical fertilizers
  • Sustainable grown materials – Bamboo/Hemp both grow exceptionally fast, using less water, naturally insect resistant, and long lasting durability.
  • RPET – creating a soft fiber from otherwise discarded plastics
  • Support of environmental non-profits like Hudson River Clearwater Project.
